when i say consciousness i mean the ultimate consciousness as in the god head. i dont believe the soul is an infinite thing. once i die my soul dies with me and my expierences get added to the god head. it makes sense to me cause i dont think i could live in everlasting bliss for all of existance. which is a very very long time. when i thought about this infinitie as a kid it made me cry, cause i just cant be aware that long i guess. when i die my soul has done its job of giving me the expiernce of life and my expierences will be part of the collective memory or the godhead. at least thats what im starting to believe.

In the cosmic system truth remains the same for all. One may agree or not... it is immaterial! Our soul atman within the body is the spirit that we cannot see but only feel its presence in the heart. Reincarnation does not exist in the cosmic system. Why am I stating so is that soul does not take rebirth... it just manifests a body to work out its karma... to remove the impurities, the dross within! Had it taken rebirth... it would be termed as reincarnation!
Life to life... form to form... the manifestation of the soul atman continues. It is a chain of 8.4 million manifestations... an earthly life cycle of 96.4 million years. The complete cosmic journey is covered by the soul atman in a single life span... hence the question of rebirth or reincarnation does not arise. As the metal within an ore cannot purify itself on its own... the soul atman also requires a body to purify itself.
The cosmic journey starts with the soul atman manifesting the form of an amoeba (single cell formation)... the first manifestation, subsequently it evolves into multi-cell formation, then insect life, plant life, animal life and finally the form of a human being. It is only as a human being in the last leg of life... the 8.4 millionth manifestation... the soul atman within liberates itself from the cycle of birth and death.
The release of the soul atman from the chain of manifestations becomes possible after the human being reaches the stage of enlightenment (kaivalya jnana) and finally salvation (moksha). Having gained its pure pristine original form... it is a straight journey by the soul atman to the kingdom of God (aka Baikuntha in Hinduism)... a point of no return!
Karma is the connecting link between one manifestation and the next. As is the residual balance of karma of the previous manifestation... so shall be the next manifestation. If the residual balance of karma demands one be born in the house of a laborer... it is simply cannot be that the soul atman manifests the form of a Princess. Reincarnation is the cycle of life, death, and rebirth of the soul. In each incarnation you are a new person with some of the traits of your past persona's. You are in this cycle to learn, and many believe that you choose your next life to learn something new(or just understand something different)
Your soul and your consciousness are the same in the next life as in this one you just have all new experiences to color your personality in the next life.
Its a unique way to teach about life but in the end the soul learns more by experiencing then it does by reading or watching.

One’s conscientious is one’s soul/spirit. However, it is not recycled in the sense of coming back as someone or something else.
It is a one to a customer type thing. It’s yours and when you die it separates from your physical body and goes to an intermediate area: heaven in the presence of the Lord if you are saved, hell if you are not to await the Second Coming of Christ at which time it will be resurrected and given a new glorified body if you are saved or cast into the lake of fire if you are not.
Read the Bible, it’s in there!

Dylan I have to agree with the first two answers, many false ideas like reincarnation have become part of peoples belief but there is no substance to it, we are all unique and have a spitirual nature that we call the soul and this soul does not keep coming back again and again.

I believe differently. Our soul does not die with us, it is our soul that passes into a different body. There is some portion of the consciousness that stays with the soul, but not all of it.
That I what I believe, at least.

I'm not being hateful but reincarnation is a myth. However I will admit it's an interesting idea along with aliens and things like that.

I hate to be the one who breaks it to you, but there's no such thing as reincarnation. There's life and there's death. You don't get recycled as you are led to believe.
