It seems that wherever the British have gone(I am from England) they have raped and robbed-then left and created more mayhem and murder than is humanly possible. Or was it just that the countries they go to are inhabited by races that are weak and needed to be ruled?(that is not meant ot be provocative ....hee hee.
I am not complaining as it has meant that the place I grew up in is one of the richest in the world-due to the fact that they veni ,vidi, vici .

Completely untrue. You will find that wherever the British have been they will have left behind schools, hospitals, roads etc. the Americans however arive, take everything they can (including people's dignity) and then leave. There were tremendous benefits for India of British occupation just as there were enormous benefits for Britain of having occupied India such as being introduced to bathrooms and daily bathing.

You have been provocative sir and I shall respond.

Standards of living significantly increased in India, Argentina and South Africa following British colonial involvement. By investing and providing national infrastructures for these countries we enabled them to compete in the long-term despite intial gains from foreign labour. The costs of Empire were still huge and I think that the phrase 'murder and mayhem' is pretty trite and inaccurate.

The phrase 'needed to be ruled' could only really come from a British poster. People don't need to be ruled- I have faith in the rationality of people; however the UK did provide decent economic, religious and moral guidelines for other nations to either fully integrate or partially integrate. We are also rather precipitously placed as one of the richest nations in the world without the national resources of America or the relatively low labour costs of China. However if Mars can be reached in the near future I believe the British Empire should be the intergalatic representatives- if only for the history y'know? Joking, a multi national taskforce would be necessary and ideal. With a British leader to prevent the weak other people ruining the economic infrastructure of future Mars obviously.

People misunderstand when I point out that the last 90 years of Middle Eastern war are about oil. They think somehow I mean Just oil instead of OIL. The product that allows the western world to survive. If OIL is not available there would be mass starvation within weeks, not months. There would likely be riots in the cities within three days.

British foreign policy has been a global nightmare, all things considered. Almost any global conflict/hotspot still smoldering today has its roots in British screw-ups.

The worst aspects of US foreign policy are like a blundering amateur in comparison (not to excuse it).
