If you are looking for services, your local United Way can help direct you to the appropriate non-profit agencies/services.

www.guidestar.org has listings for IRS approved nonprofit organizations all over the USA. The basic service is free to use - you will be able to see contact information for the agency you seek, descriptions of their services, and their latest 990 that is on file.
