the Bible thumpers come out, saying without doubt that I am going to hell.

That is judgement...why such a double standard?

Is it o.k. to point out the supposed sins of others, but overlook those of the fundamentalists who call themselves Christians?

Jesus talked a lot of being judgemental but said nothing about being gay. It's worse than a double-standard :(

"You know you have the right god when he hates all the same people you do."

All Christians are sinners and all commit sin. Salvation is salvation is salvation. If you beleive that Jesus Suffered and Died for your sins, rose again and is your savior, THAT's salvation. That's all that is technically required.

God will be your judge, He will be my judge, He will be the final judge of all. There are scriptures in the Bible that point to sins of the flesh. There are scriptures in the Bible that point to all forms of sins. Sins of the flesh are often just more obvious than the other types. I will not condemn you to hell. Only God knows what your judgement will be.

As for salvation, although that's all that's required, it's a great feeling once you're saved, to live your life in a way that you believe is pleasing to God.

Do I believe that homosexuality is a sin? Yes. But you have to live your life and come to your own conclusions. I encourage you to study the Bible for yourself and see what answers you find there.

Blessings to you.

We are warned not to judge the sinner but God's judgement has already been passed on the sin. Jesus gives us all the opportunity, believer and non-believer alike, to come out of sin and be forgiven. I know that sometimes we can sound judgemental and I admit that it is one of our failings but we cannot judge you as going to hell, while you still have the chance to choose otherwise. I think we as Christians forget that we will be judged by what we have done as Christ's children.

Telling you that you are going to hell is not judging you it is making a statement of fact....if you remain gay. If I tell someone that they are going to go to prison for rape is that judging them or making a statement of fact? Christians are only repeating what God has said. Christians are not judging you the God we serve has already set forth the judgment and the facts of sin we are just repeating it.
Romans 1:27 And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompense of their error which was meet.
Romans 1:32 Who knowing the JUDGMENT OF GOD, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them.

If you will read these scriptures there are many other deeds in between these two scriptures that I have given you that mentions other sins as well but I just put these two down because it is dealing with your particular question.

I wondered the same thing when I read the answers to your other question.

On the other hand, I also thought how nice it was to see the Catholics defending the fundamentalists, who always bash Catholics.

no, it isn't OK. My advice is to continue not to judge and let the others realize the foolishness in their ways.

I know it sucks to be judged. (especially when someone tells you that you will go to hell for whatever reason. As if they knew.) No man knows what awaits another man in Eternity. All we can do is speculate and stand in our faith. I believe that GOD alone knows what awaits us, so it is foolishness for anyone to judge another's salvation.

Maybe you could remind these men who judge you of the following teaching from Paul in King James Translation:

Philipians 2:12-13

12Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling.

13For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure

Hey, don't make it that horrible. According to them we're all ending up in Hell, for whatever reason. Me, because I'm an atheist Satanist, because I challenge their faith (and often insult the whole deity concept), because I breathe and I'm alive.

Meet you there.

call me a fundie.. but Paul talks about sins of the flesh, besides the fact that you are gay, you might be a sinner in many other ways.. lying, desrespecting parents, hey same for me.. it's just clear cut, if you are gay, you sin.. that is to say, read Romans 1 men who chose the unnatural for the lust of the flesh.. who are you to question God how he made you.. for His Glory he did this.. Romans describes it way better than I, but don't get deffensive.. if someone judges you that's their problem and if you don't believe anyway.. then who cares right?

If you are living your life, and you are happy with who your are. And you are just following your heart, what is wrong with that? Be at peace and know that Source loves you just the way you are.

I am sure I will get thumbs down for this, but who cares.

The ones doing the judging need to read the plank and splinter story..........I know they have the book.
