I suggest that you read your question and ask yourself how immature you sound.
Accept the consequences of your actions and pay the fine.

Well, I think you should man-up, act like an adult and pay the ticket.
I'll give you a short story. When my dear daughter was an irresponsible late teener - early 20's woman, she ignored her parking tickets and most others too.
When she was 45 years old and recently divorced, she wanted to take back her maiden name. The last thing she did was go to DMV to get her license changed back to her maiden name. She found out that she has 4 bench warrants for her arrest and her unpaid tickets, with penalty and interest in now almost $7000.00. She had to pay it or face arrest...
Now, she is a responsible adult, a wonderful mother, holds a very responsible International position with a worldwide company. But, she had to pony up the money and pay for her irresponsibility in her youth.
So what might have been a total of $100.00 or so back then is a major expense today.

Let me ask YOU a question....why is the cop the "local bum?"
YOU broke the law by refusing to pay for the parking. Why should everybody else pay while you ignore the rules established by YOUR city!
Better yet...why not just bellyache about it and volunteer to offset the income from the meters and just pay higher taxes!
I don't write parking tickets, I just execute the warrants issued and take you to jail!
Pay the fine and grow up!

1. The fine will double to $40 after 21 days.
2. It will be sent to collections and noted on your credit.
3. Your car will be flagged in the system and booted or towed next time you park illegally.
4. You could even be arrested if a warrant is issued and you still don't pay.
(Guess it's easier to just read the signs, huh?)

Parking tickets are purely yet another stealth tax via a grasping government. It stinks. We pay highway tax , tax on gasoline vat on obligatory coverage ,vat on new vehicles or perhaps vat on 2d hand autos n autos. Parking attendants are on fee so will supply a value tag as quickly as they are in a position to!

You may choose to not pay your parking ticket. You may not like the ramifications of not doing so. The ticket is entered into a computer nowadays, and computers never forget. Five years from now it might come around to bite you in the.....

Your license will be suspended and the next time you're pulled over you will be arrested and spend the day in jail, until you get in front of a judge and he asks you why you didnt pay. You will tell him that you simply forgot and he's going to make you pay the original fine, plus surcharges, plus fines for driving with a suspended license all for 20 bucks.

Depending on the state, it mayl show up when you go to renew your registration for your vehicle and you will not be able to renew without having that taken care of first. If you accumulate high enough debt in parking fines, the state could repo your car until they are paid.

OK, just go ahead and ignore it................. how does jail time sound to you.........................
When you see a sign that states there's only a '2 Hour Parking Zone' there - that's exactly what it means!!!!!!!!!
It makes no difference where the sign is - it means 2 HOURS and that's it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It will be cheaper to pay the $20 than to ignore it; they will add late charges and other charges plus you could go to jail - so, the choice is yours; pay $20 now or tons more (and possibly jail time) later..............
