1. About 6 years ago I went on the combination theraphy of Pagasis and Interferon I was told I had a low chance of getting rid of the virus and would need to be on treatment for a year, however after 2 months my viral load was very low and therefore a test didnt show I had it any more, I was just wondering if its possible I now have the virus back from what I understand you dont get rid of the virus it just lowers your viral load?

2. Also how easily is Hep C spread though sexual contact?

It can be passed through sexual contact but isn't common since it's a bloodborne virus. It isn't like HIV which is spread through all bodily fluids.

a pseron who succesfully has a sustained viral response beyond a year post antiviral chemotherapy is considered cured.

last biopsy (the TRUE picture) showed NO viral load or activity. i had an easier to treat genotype and did treatment for an entire 48 weeks. once infected with ANY virus-a person can test positive for antibodies, yet the virus no longer can replicate.

once you have a virus-no matter what kind-a person has antibodies.

hcv is blood to blood only. it is very difficult to pass hcv through intercourse. there ALWAYS has to be a blood to blood cross contamination to take place in order for the hcv to infect.

hcv corpuscles found in any other bodily fluid CANNOT transfer!

as always respect "self" and those around you by wearing a condom in a sexual relationship-there are worse diseases out there than hcv!

Hi - I know that you can get it thru sexual contact or infected blood mostly so the chances are quite high. For more info ask your GP, and also they should be able to provide you with leaflets, your local outpatients at your hospital will provide info too.

Hep-c is transmitted thru blood. I know; for I too went thru treatment. It is a virus (disease) I too show it not in my blood but know a disease you don't get rid of. Please know you have it so it is not spread to anyone else. It is spread thru blood. Thanks Love & support Nancy
