Swift and harsh punishment...insure that the predator can never strike again....however, that needs to be accomplished.

Depends on the religion.
Most SANE people condemn it, but you'll always find a few fringe lunatics in any group who use twisted, contorted logic to justify it.
For example, there are still fringe Mormon sects that condone Bigamy with wives as young as 14. The vast majority of Mormons condemn this behavior.
The infamous Pedophile priests have no religious justification for their behavior. They're just sick bastards who didn't cook up a "justification."
There are fringe Muslim groups that so demonize women that they've cooked up a twisted rationale for systematically molesting underage boys as a means of satisfying their sexual urges. Again, this is a small, demented minority condemned by the majority of Muslims.

I'd want to know who they were & I'd pray for them--I was once married to a sexual predator, we divorced nearly 20 years ago.

Those who do suffer this affliction are plagued by a spirit of lust that deviates to desire children but everyone can be delivered and saved if they will repent and accept the Lord.
