This is why I want to know what other people believe and experience: I've felt the Spirit so very strongly in my life, as I have lived by the rules, and believed in the doctrines, of my religion, the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. We each have been given the "Gift of the Holy Ghost," by the laying on of hands of those in priesthood authority. This "Gift" promises that if we think about Jesus constantly (ie about Him being our Saviour and guide) then we will constantly have that feeling of the Spirit (a feeling of peace, love and clarity). I have found this to be true.
Now, I always wondered WHY anyone would believe anything other than what I believe. I couldn't comprehend it really, since all the doctrines in the Church just made so much sense to me.
So I came out of my shell, to see what other people believe and feel... what it is that convinces them that they are right. I have come to the conclusion that the thing that convinces other people of the rightness of their religion is the Truth. Every religion has it to some degree.
It is only the lies that cause divisions among religious people. Anything that takes away that spirit of peace is a lie... so anyone fighting, being rude, not being loving... they are more than likely to be labouring under quite a few misconceptions.

So, you're saying that Christ was wrong when he said there would be many claiming to speak in his name, but who are not following his path?
This is just my point of view does not include any aspects of other religions, such as Buddhism.
First thing to remember that in the Bible, things that come in threes represent perfection.
Nearly 2000 years after creation, the Jews were the first of God’s Chosen People.
They began as an overall small group, emerging from a mixed heritage with all other humans.
ï¡ Their beliefs did not match most of the commonly held beliefs of the day;
ï¡ The believed in one God and not multiple gods or godheads;
ï¡ They did not observe the traditionally held observances and holidays of the time;
ï¡ There were well educated individuals of other beliefs who could prove they were a false religion and a cult;
ï¡ They separated themselves from those of other beliefs; and
ï¡ They were persecuted for their beliefs.
Nearly 2000 years of the existence of the Jews, the Christians became the Second of God’s Chosen People.
â They began as an overall small group, emerging from the Jews, but later including people from other religions;
â Their beliefs did not match most of the commonly held beliefs of the day;
â They believed that the Messiah had come despite the fact that Armageddon did not start, along with the destruction of false religion, as the Jews believed would happen;
â They did not observe traditionally held observances and holidays of the time;
â There were well educated individuals (Saul of Tarsus) in the Jewish beliefs who could prove they were a false religion, and a cult (
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Saul_of_Tarsus);
â They separated themselves from those of other beliefs; and
â They were persecuted for their beliefs.
Now, the question is who is the third group, representing perfection, to be considered the Chosen People of God?
⸠They will be an overall small group, compared to the size of Christendom, from which they emerged;
⸠Their beliefs will not match most of the commonly held beliefs of Christendom;
⸠They may believe that the Messiah has come a second time despite the fact that Armageddon did not start, along with the destruction of false religion;
⸠They wouldn’t observe the traditionally held observances and holidays;
⸠There will be well educated individuals who, like their predecessors of 2000 and 4000 years ago could with the Jews and Christians, prove that they are a false religion, and a cult;
⸠They will separated themselves from those of other beliefs; and
⸠They were persecuted for their beliefs.
So, the question to ask yourself is who is this third group? Is it your church?

Some will say anything, some non-Religious people also pose as Religious people spreading hate to give us a bad name.
We are not supposed to judge each other.
I am Catholic because;
1. I believe in the divinity of Jesus Christ.
2. I want to follow the origin of the faith and not things that have been changed to fit our needs.
Peace!

People who speak "in tongues" are not of God, they are of flesh and blood, and are speaking "gibberish." Usually in full view of others whom they want to impress as having an inside conduit with God. Isn't it funny they never speak a language that is known and quantifiable, such as perfect Polish when they've never heard it spoken before. No-it's always a bad imitation of somebody's idea of what a foreign language might sound like.
No one knows whether they are being guided by false prophets. One has to do what one feels is right and fair.

The bible says we are to work out our own salvation with fear and trembling. If you are sincerely seeking God in a personal way and with an open mind, you are following the right path no matter what anyone else tells you.

Yes, thats correct. The original speakers in tongues had people they were addressing. Now, its just religous hysteria or following the wishes of the Anti-chrisr who did everything to belittle the actual power of Jesus.

They are all going to hell because they have fallen for the greatest trick Satan has ever pulled and that is to steer people away from the religion and principles of the bible to this mish mosh of religions and made up dogmas.

I have never witnessed the true gift of tongues. However I have seen a few cases of demonic possession masquerading as the real thing. This is a common occurrence in fundamentalist congregations.

One of the reasons I joined the LDS church was because they do NOT believe that everyone else is WRONG. I never was a subscriber to the theory that one church or religion is the ONLY way to God, and everyone else is damned.

The Bible is God's Word and God can't lie, so the Bible is right, therefore since my church is Christ centered and Bible based, its the right one for me. Catholics won't go to Hell as long as they have accepted Jesus as their Savior, but Jews and anyone else who rejected Jesus will. Not my law, but God's.
