God ordained 10 major things for the Jews (Hebrews) to follow, and hundreds of minor ones. Together, these constituted the Mosaic Law, because it was delivered to Moses, who then delivered it to the Jews. This Mosaic Law was the basis of life for the Jews for hundreds of years until the death of Jesus, who "fulfilled" thise laws.

By fulfilling them, these detailed laws, which were meant to teach the Jews exactly what sin was, and how to atone for it, were defunct and no longer in effect.

Instead, these were replaced by much simpler commands that Jesus gave us during his years of active teaching. These new commands were for everyone alike, not just the Jews. The expectation was that the Jews would be able to teach the rest of the world what they had learned about sin.

These simpler laws boil down to these basic concepts:

1) Love God with all your heart, all your mind, and all your soul.
2) Love Others as you love yourself.
3) Share the Good News of Jesus throughout all of the world.

There is no doubt that humans have, over the centuries, tried to put their own 'spin' on these commands, but that is the doing of man, not of God.

Many human laws were based upon the 10 commandments, which form the singular definition of how people ought to behave if the world is going to be a pleasant place in which to exist.

Love. That is the ultimate law of God. That is what laws we will follow when Christ returns. That is the only law that is needed even now. If I love you like God loves you then I won't condemn you I would let you know that sin will harm you, but I would also let you know that love will set you free. The love I am talking about is the cross of Christ. Think about that cross and how much love it took to be there for your sin. God bless.
