I was raised Christian but for as long as I can, I was unimpressed with the Bible. If God or Jesus were such heroes, why did they only perform miracles on people who were going to Heaven? Why didn't they go into Hell and help those people? So no, I never thought of them as heroes because the only help people who worship them.

No. If you are bored with Jesus then you are not a Christian.

Jesus is trying to help those people right now. Some people will just not listen. Look at the people on this site who come against the Lord. Even yourself you are bored with him and trying to figure why he should have done things differently.

Did you create the heavens and the earth? Did you breath in man the breath of life? Why do you question God?

No sorry you are wrong. Jesus "hung out" with the sinners. That is where He wanted to be helping the lost. As for going into Hell and helping people, judgement day has not came yet so why would He have went into Hell. You say you were raised Christian, so was I and yes when you are raised in a faith and it is just there in front of you, you can tend to get bored. Let me challenge you. Now that you are a grown up. Try to wipe out all that you knew growing up. Pick up the Bible and re read it or read it for the first time. You can get some Bible on tape. Start praying and ask God to help you to open your eyes and heart.
As for heroes...Jesus died for you and me so that we can go to Heaven that is the ultimate gift!

Just because you were raised in a Christian family that does not make you Christian. You obviously are not Christian.

Being Christian comes with a relationship with Jesus Christ, I really don't see how you can be bored with that!!!

You have your own ideas for what you think God should have done... but really, can you change what is or has been already... just let it be... it's God's will! Some things just can't be challenged.

"Why didn't they go into Hell and help those people?"

Because miracles are, at best, a short-term solution to a long-term problem. Sure, they can postpone death, or grant sight to the blind, or heal sicknesses, or even temporarily restore life, but in the end, its beneficiaries are going to die anyway. What's important is that at some point in time, a person is going to have to repent of one's sins and ask for God's forgiveness. However, there's no guarantee that even if God granted a person numerous miracles, that that person would do so. Anyone who continues to reject Him has cut himself or herself off from any help He would have willing given them, for God will not force His love on anyone.

Being raised Christian and being a true beliver and follower of Jesus Christ are two different things.
We do not inherit our parents faith. Perhaps you never received salvation through Jesus, becuase if you did, you would be glad of the relationship and not questioning these things.

Read and study the bible and see if you feel differently about this.

Jesus performed miracles on all sorts of people...before He ever went to the cross. What greater heroism is there than giving your own life for people who will never acknowledge you or thank you just to spare them from hell? He died that ALL might have eternal life...its our choice if we go to hell or not.

Christ entered this hell offering salvation to us all. He performs miracles for sinners, so that they receive understanding. He leaves the self-proclaiming 'righteous' to their foolish ways. He does this by authority of our Father; this is what He was sent down here to do. I'm a sinner, but I'm no fool; Christ is my hero. As you grow in your faith watch for the miracles He performs in your life.

Well as your reasoning would have it, God's reasoning is not the same as ours. Has hard as it is to understand that there is a God and that he created us for a purpose (his purpose) and that Satan toys with us and tries to get us away from God, that they have a soul fight going on with us, and you are a vital part of that.... to me, it's anything but boring. The angelic conflict alone is quite facinating. Maybe your church isn't peaking your interest. But there are reasons (in God's justice and rightousness) that you and I don't possess, as we want to do what is sweet to do, not what is fair or just in God's eyes to do.... God's will be done. And thats that.
It's just fact. You don't have to worship him if you dont' want to that is your choice.

god rains on the just and the unjust or something like that.

look at marilyn manson. a really cool guy, but couldn't be further from christ. he's loaded!

if there is a god, he clearly doesn't help or hinder us. he's just there. things that happen just happen without his approval or disapproval.

the way of the world........

also, there wasn't a hell during the time of Christ on earth. read your bible....

Sounds to me like you're just calling yourself a Christian by name... But Im not trying to judge... I am speaking from experience... I used to feel the same way. But I found Jesus... Really accepted Him... And from then on, boredom never crossed my mind....
