It is the title of a painting by Aaron Douglas (1934)
"Aspects of ***** Life: From Slavery to Reconstruction"

It is just an overwhelming piece of art. It whispers to you a story of pain and strength and you realize you will never be able to fathom the depth of it.

It is just scratching the surface of your heart and it hurts.

"I refuse to compromise and see blacks as anything less than a proud and majestic people."
-Aaron Douglas

It isn't neccessarily inspiring to everone who looks at it. A better question is why do YOU find it so inspiring? And that question only YOU can answer.
