See a dermatologist. He can determine if a prescription skin bleaching agent will help. Do not try a store bought bleaching agent. Many are dangerous and a terrible effect is that they can cause areas of depigmentation (loss of color). This means they can lead to permanently blotchy skin with light and dark areas...making freckles seem minor in comparison.

In the meantime, the way to prevent more freckles is to avoid sun exposure so be sure your back and arms are always covered. Now, make an appointment with a dermatologist. Good luck!

If you are unsure of what they are, visit a dermatologist first. Freckles are flat and generally of a homogeneous colour. If they are freckles, there are various skin lightening creams you can purchase. Ask a doctor about additional remedies such as pills, laser etc. Freckles fade over time. That's why they are far more common in children than adults. In the meantime, to prevent them darkening in the sun (as they are effectively concentrated spots of melanin, which is what makes skin tan darker in the sun) wear sunscreen that is at least SPF 30+
