No. A quantized image is on that takes an analog image and breaks it into discreet levels. Compress images have the amount of data in an image reduced by clever algorithms like recognizing similar parts of a photo are identical and sending them only one. Compression can be lossy (throw away some data) or non-lossy.

i am quite not sure.. but i guess they are different.. quantised image is image qualified to different levels.. ur image wont be great... if the quantisation level is higher the better ur image is.. compressed image is image reduced in size while the clarity or resolution of the image is kept intact.. quantisation reduces the resolution but compression maintians the same resolution..
