Christians, would it be better if Jesus wasn't tortured and crucified?

Maybe just a quick stab or beheading would have served God just as well?

Sure a beheading would have served God in the same manner but it was not the preferred method of execution at the time. Crucifixion was the common means of execution at the time. Several of Christ's disciples were crucified as well, including Peter, who was crucified upside down.
