I just read where Tammy Faye is dying and she has written a note to her fans asking for their prayers. What are everyone's thought on this. Is she being puished by God?

I'm not trying to be mean towards this woman, but I really wanted to see what people thought about what is happening now. I lost my Mother to lung cancer and I know Tammy is suffering, but I just wanted to know what Christians felt.
If everyone here would keep her in their thoughts and prayers that would be nice.
If hairspray and makeup is the toxin it may come back to bite me. I was a hairdresser for 30 years... but my mascara was water and smudge proof!

TFB ... why has this betrayer of public trust now looking for sympathy from the public that she so easily and willingly took advantage (for economic profit) for so long on a "spiritual level" ... which put her in a position of power in abusing those that so much deserved her trust and honesty during that period of abuse ?? ... and now, when Iife is going against her in very mortal way, she asks for our forgiveness ?? Life takes many twists and turns, and God expects us to support those that cannot support themselves ... including those that may morally stray off God's path for some "good reason" at some point and commit sins to which we are offended but yet as Christians we must force ourselves to "turn our other cheek" ... but at some point our self-respect as moral Christian people takes precedence over such obligations, and we must cast such "users" that have never given us anything other as shame and misery for what we are as what they are ... users and abusers that do not deserve our support much less sympathy. I will never take pleasure in turning my back on another, but if my face did not deserve their tears in the first place, then I feel no remorse in giving those that abuse the faith that which I would give anyone else that abuses the faith ... my condolences and wishes that they cross to the other side to receive the eternal fate that they have so earnestly earned.

She's dying because its her time to die. Asking for prayers is her right. She's always seemed like a cartoon character to me, but you gotta feel bad for anyone dying of cancer. We will all be judged at the time of judgment and that's a way off yet, so no, its not a punishment.

Tammy is dying because, unfortunately, everybody dies. She has cancer and she may or may not be suffering because of things she has done in her life that go against God's word, but I haven't read of God himself punishing anyone with disease.

Let's back up and ask the larger question; Is sickness always punishment for sin? Obviously not. Christians get sick all the time. Bad things happen to good people. Rain falls on everybody. I don't claim to understand it all, but God does, and I trust Him.

I wondered the same thing, myself. The fact of the matter stands, she and her ex-husband scammed millions of people, all in the name of god. Regardless, I don't wish this kind of suffering on anyone. We all enjoy poking fun at her, but if there is an inappropriate time, it's this one.

They're dying because that is the cycle of life, period. I know plenty of con artists who have lived well into their 90s. Don't read too far into this trying to adjudicate death to any type of divine castigation.
