No it isn't right, but the many often feel that because they are the majority it makes what they do right because they all agree.

It shouldn't be in my opinion. The evolution of religions can be thought of as a wave and some have risen and are cresting, but perhaps they will fall and/or return the the vast ocean from whence they arose. Which may not be a bad thing. Plus, treating others with kindness and compassion seems to be a major them of all religions, so there's another reason not to.
