On a scale of 1-10, 10 being most painful, how bad does a tatoo on the foot hurt?

I've had three done on each side and a solitaire in the right ear (up at the very top). What I've noticed from my personal ear piercings and those of my friends is that the amount of pain you feel depends on two things: your personal pain threshold; the amount of nerve sensitivity in your ears. As you move up the ear, most people wind up with more cartilage than soft tissue... so generally, even if you have a low tolerance for pain, the further up your ear you go the less it hurts. My first piercings in the lobes hurt like mad, but the second holes (about a quarter inch up) were only about half that. My third piercing was more like a sharp stab and then a dull ache- like someone was pinching my ear and wouldn't let go- and my fourth on the right side I barely felt anything past the initial puncture. If you're anything like me, it shouldn't be too bad unless you get lazy and don't clean them or turn the posts like you should. You can get a good idea of how much it might hurt to get the second one done by getting one of those miniature clamp-thingies they use in an office and clip it on your ear. The longer you can go with it on (try not to leave it on more than 20 minutes to prevent any damage from poor circulation), the higher your pain tolerance will be and the less likely the second piercing is to really hurt you. Mind you, you have to be honest with yourself- don't try to macho up and say it doesn't hurt if it does, or you'll have an inaccurate test result!

I can't answer this question out of experience, but I know many people with foot tattoos. =)

My mom got a vine wrapped around her big toe and she said she'd NEVER get another on her foot.

One of my best friends has a tattoo on each foot. I was with her when she got the second, and she turned all red and made the most horrible faces! Haha =)

I've heard that a foot is the most painful place to get a tattoo.

For starters, go with a simple tattoo and see how well you take the pain. My friend with the two foot tats, has a very cute, simple black star by the crease between her big and second toes.

I have a tattoo on my toe. Since it is directly above the bone it's going to hurt bad. Depending on your toleranceof physical pain the range of hurt could vary. I would rate the pain a 7 or 8. It wasn't a pain I could live with forever, but it wet by fast and if you really want a tattoo, you will deal with it. Good luck... and I am planning on getting a tattoo in words on my left hip... was it really a 4?

I have a moderate sized gecko on the top of the foot, tail wrapping around the ankle. On the scale I would throw that one at 8+. I have an extensive one on my back and one on the back of my head. Anywhere the muscle is thin and there is a higher density of nerve bundles (feet , ankle bone, collar bone, short ribs) the pain is always greater. I would do another foot tat, since I had mine recolored it reminded me that I would like to have it someplace else.

It's a TEN all the way.. I have 15 stars on my foot and it was the worst pain ever!! I also, have a flower on my toe and that was about a 8. I have 2 more on both my wrist and that was about a 4. THE FOOT IS VERY PAINFUL!! Good Luck

i have a tattoo on the top of my foot.. on my back, on my left shoulder, on my wrist, lower pelvic, and the most painful one.. on the right side of my body that goes from under my armpit all the way to my hip and comes out a little on the underside of my right breast and on my stomach. the one on my foot wasnt that bad but it did hurt. they all hurt, except for the ones on my wrist. the foot.. its pretty painful but everyone is different. if its your first tattoo then you'll probably be relieved once you finally feel it because you always make it out to be bigger than what it is. but you'll still live lol. and a bit of advice. make sure of what you want. these things are permanent. and be original. so i would say about.... a 5. but only because i have felt wayyy worse.

I would say it hurts pretty bad i already have 3 big Chinese symbols on my shoulder/back and i thought that pain was bad until i got my foot done! about a 9!! Good Luck :)

I have a tat on my toe and on the side of my foot. They are pretty painful, but since that is the only place that I have them, I cant really compare. It was pretty bad though!

WELL I SAW SOMEONE GET A TAT ON THEIR FOOT AND SHE WAS IN PAIN, BUT IT WAS HER FIRST TAT. BUT SINCE YOU HAVE A TAT ON YOUR HIP AND IT DIDNT HURT THAT BAD MAYBE IT WILL BE A 5-6 FOR YOU. IT ALL DEPENDS ON HOW WELL YOU TAKE PAIN

i say about a 5/6 it hurts at first then the pains fades a little i have several and that one was one of the ones that hurted the least now on the lower back oooocchiieeee
