it means -to be platonic friends-and therefore to let it go further-would be to that party -nothing romantic "like kissing your sister" infering on the cheek-even if kissing the friend on the lips.
the bible says to kiss the son and do homage to him-Psalm 2 and as a Jew that learned in Catholic Charismatic to pray and come to know Jesus-not religion about him - this is what happened to me to kiss the son-like a sister yet it means to do homage -reverence Jesus=Yes! They become a true Muslim or Jew, and anything in that or any religion that goes against God's Word the bible is rejected. I am a Jew in the Messiah Jesus=Messianic Jew
Christian comes from the word for the anointed one -in Greek it is Cristos, Christian means a follower of the Messiah, My Jewish people claim mostly that there is or will be a Messiah, Muslims say that Jesus is the Messiah and is in heaven awaiting return to reign.
The Messiah desires all to believe in Him -not just in words but in their heart to know him as savior, Messiah and best friend.
how i came to do this is believing the prophecies of the coming of the Messiah
Isaiah 9:6 "Unto us a child is born, a son is given, and he will be almighty God, and the prince of peace.
only Jesus fits this-the Jewish people and Muslims are without a sacrifice for their sins in almighty God the Son given, why not believe=
Isaiah 52:13-53:12 "He will be exalted and made very high. He will first lay down his life to make atonement for our sins."
I prayed first to know the truth, then as I found it I prayed as he says to do "I love you and knock on your heart door to come in deliver from sin and be your friend, when you repent from sin and ask me in." Revelation 1:1 chapter 1 verse 1 & 3:19&20
my prayer "Jesus come into my heart, I am sorry for my sins, thanks for dying to forgive me, I am sorry for my unbelief, help me, and be my friend, amen."
now truely Jesus is my friend and helps me day by day.

That it would be pointless and boring. Nothing .. kissing your sister should stir up no emotions for you. The kiss would therefore be meaningless.
Like building yourself up for something that isn't even there.

It simply means its just feels ok or maybe even slightly awkward because you are showing affection to someone you love, but it lacks the euphoria or fireworks that you might feel when kissing someone you are emotionally and/or physically attracted too.... also cheek vs lips...

It means that if you are a guy and you are like best friends with a girl, you would never do anything physical with them....cuz it would be like kissing your sister b/c you are such good friends.
