Ringworm is not actually a worm, but a fungus - Tinea corporis - (related to Athletes' Foot).
Typically, scaly red patches on the skin, the size of which varies from a few millimetres to several centimetres in diameter.
The patches are ring-shaped or oval and the edges are red and scaly. Inside the ring, the skin may be a bit scaly but looks normal in all other respects. The fungus spreads from the centre of the patch but the activity is confined to the outer edge.
The infected areas are usually itchy.

Ringworm is not actually a worm or parasite but is a contagious fungal skin infection.
Ringworm is a microscopic fungus that only infects the outer layer of the skin, living and multiplying on the top layer of dead skin. The ringworm fungi feed on keratin, the material found in the outer layer of skin, hair, and nails. They rarely invade deeper into the body and cannot live on mucous membranes, such as those in the mouth or vagina.
These fungi thrive best on skin that is moist, hot, and hidden from the light. A ringworm fungal skin infection located on one part of the body can cause a rash in another area of the body that isn't infected. These areas appear due to an allergic reaction to the fungus.
Ringworm occurs when a particular type of fungus grows and multiplies anywhere on your skin, scalp, fingers, nails or feet. Ringworm of the body can develop anywhere on the skin and can spread rapidly to other parts of the body or to other people with whom there is close bodily contact or touching.

A raised red patch, it isn't a worm but a viral infection. My daughter catches them from animals---she is a veterinary nurse. the doctor treated her with an anti viral cream and it got bigger so she used the same cream as the animals and it disappeared.

it is a ring like place just under the skin enough to raise, ring will be slightly raised, almost resembling a cigarette type burn, if let gone to long it will kinda get sappy yellowish color. you can simply use anti-fungal cream, or contact your Dr and he can prescribe you something.
