I'm a hypochondriac, and yes, I really am this stupid. I'm supposed to go to a GI specialist next week Thursday, and there's been talk about a colonoscopy. But I just realized I didn't notice the "clots" until I started eating this italian dressing by kraft almost everyday starting about 3 weeks ago, and that I have no real idea what a clot would look like anyway.

You have blood in stool, which means that you have some form of internal bleeding and it looks like black lumps, real black lumps mixed in with your brown stool. You then have mucus, a bit like when you cough or blow you nose, sticky stuff that can be passed along with a stool and that is the sign of inflammation. Clots I have to be honest I have never seen? I have seen bloody toilet bowl when a hemorrhoid has burst and that is like slashing your wrist bright red blood.
As for what we eat? Well corn on the cob goes through. Tomato skin can go through without being digested as can red pepper skins! If the stool is bright red, chances are it would not be a clot. However their is NO HARM in having this colonoscopy. In fact they are now using it as a screening test for people at the age of 50 and over, so look on it as being a positive thing to have done.

A blood clot in stool looks like black licorice or little black specks. Clots from hemorrhoids are more bloody but, near the opening and apparent.

Hemorrhoids are associated with constipation and straining at bowel movements. How to get rid of hemorrhoids https://tr.im/NcZab
Pregnancy is also associated with hemorrhoids. These conditions lead to increased pressure within the hemorrhoidal veins that causes them to swell. Other conditions, for example chronic liver disease, may also cause increased venous pressure and may be associated with hemorrhoids. Hemorrhoids are very common and are estimated to occur in up to one-half of the population by age 50.
