I am doing a research project on social issues revolving around abortion, assisted suicide, and capital punishment along with their relations to ethics in the concept of homicide.

God commands us to take the life of a person who is a murderer. Why we stop at abortion doctors is a mystery to me.

Homicide is never acceptable which is why the punishment for it is death. The death penalty is not homicide but justice. However it doesn't work well unless it is applied fairly and swiftly. Doesn't do a lot of good to sentence someone to death and then spend the next 20-50 years housing and feeding them to let them die of old age or another cause. Humans are not playing the role of God in the case of the death penalty because the ultimate judgement is still God's since He is the one who will decide where we all spend eternity. The death penalty is just another part of our laws which are permissable according to the Bible.
I feel abortion is murder but I also feel that it's a decision between a woman, her doctor and God. She is who has to be accountable in the end and you can't legislate morality. That was proven with prohibition. Assisted suicide is a whole different can of worms. If I know I'm terminal and all I am going to do is cause my family pain and financial devistation then I think I have the right (as long as I am metally sound) to make that choice. But it needs to be tightly regulated and followed. Terrible world isn't it that we make such choices. I long for when Jesus will finally come.

Only in self defense. As far as abortion, it is murder, but I also believe that it should be a woman's personal, private choice because God gives every human being the power of choice and it is her who must answer to God for her actions. Assisted suicide to me is not homicide because the "victim" is asking to die. Capital punishment is not really homicide either if the person has been proven guilty and is un-remorseful. The Bible says whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap, so if he kills and kills and does not repent, he also in turn shall be killed. Those are my personal feelings, but I think the Bible also backs me up at least to some extent. Thank you for a thought provoking question.

Okay, the first answer you received was a bit weird but, all muder is against God's laws. Only in certain instances is the deathy penalty not a sin. We are to respect human life from conception to natural death. ALL HUMAN LIFE..not just the ones we like or think deserving. God hates the sin, not the sinner.

"The killing of one human being by the act or omission of another. The term applies to all such killings, whether criminal or not. Homicide is considered noncriminal in a number of situations, including deaths as the result of war and putting someone to death by the valid sentence of a court. Killing may also be legally justified or excused, as it is in cases of self-defense or when someone is killed by another person who is attempting to prevent a violent felony. Criminal homicide occurs when a person purposely, knowingly, recklessly or negligently causes the death of another. Murder and manslaughter are both examples of criminal homicide. "

I think self defense is the only one I can agree with. That would be the only acceptable time I would even consider taking the life of another human being - if I knew they were trying to take mine or that of my family.
