So her name is Mary, and I wanted to know if I should do the old fashion and take her out or just simply take her out on a date? Do you think roses are a bit much for a first date?

Be old fashioned. We need to remind ourselves of the past sometimes when it comes to dating. Roses in bunches may be too much, but a simple yellow rose might have a wonderful effect. Make sure you are the perfect gentleman, open doors, pull out chairs, walk on the far side of the street with her inside, gently hold her hand or steer her in the direction, smile at lot, keep the conversation light, friendly, ask her about herself, be intersted in her comments, make sure you tell her interesting things about you, laugh a lot, show you have a sense of humor. Make sure you have fun no matter what. Say goodnight with a kiss to her forehead or cheek, ask her out again. If you really liked her, buy some little token (something cheap) to remember your first date. I hope you have a good time!

Depends on HOW MANY roses we are talking here. I have had guys bring me like a really nice single rose or maybe like 3 sometimes - on a first date, but a dozen would be overdoing for the first date.

Also, if you bring roses, DON'T bring red ones the first time. Just bring some other pretty ones like the multi-colored ones that are kind of white/pink/orange all swirled together on the same flower -- or something like that.

Other flowers would be nice too and maybe a little less formal. You could pick out a nice selection of assorted flowers so it would look kind of like the "old fashioned" handful of flowers picked from the field on the way to her house.

Anyway, just take her out and have a good time and don't be too serious, just get to know her a little bit. I am not sure what you mean by "do the old fashion and take her out or just simply take her out". I don't really see what the difference is. So just take her out, that's all - and yes, flowers would be nice, but if you want to bring a lot of them, don't make it all roses -- that would be too much.

Girls these days don't know from old fashioned. Nothing wrong with one rose. More than that is a little intimidating. If you're into the whole roses thing, tea roses or buttercups are nice. They are roses without giving the whole "I love you, this is Valentine's Day" crap persona.
As for the third date thing, then it's more open for half dozen roses. But keep away from red and yellow and do not buy a dozen. Purple and blue are original, but it depends on the girl. Pink is a do-no-wrong color for roses when you just start dating. And if you can, get two-tone roses.
When you reach a point where you're getting serious, by lillies and orchids.

Well, I can say it depends on the rose. Don't give her a red rose on the first date, you'll be moving too fast. Bring her a white rose at first, it's innocent and she'll think you're sweet. Don't bring a dozen either, give her one or two roses at max. Dozens usually are meant for couples. Don't rush into it yet until you know if she is thinking the same thing. Even if she is thinking the same thing, it's still a good idea to take it slow. In short, give a white rose.

Roses are a bit much if you just met her they would scream "I am desperate", but 3rd date no. Just take her somewhere simple and get to know her better. Have fun.

You should wait awhile for the roses. It might put too much pressure on making it work.

Roses are probably a bit much, but some daisies or brightly colored mums would be fantastic! :) Get her a bouquet that is brightly colored and then you can ask her which color is her favorite. :)

Good luck! :)
