Holding urine can cause a urinary track infection.
Take him out to go and then feed him while you are getting ready for your day and then take him out before you leave.
None of mine eat much in the morning. Ready to go potty when I get up then come inand crash for the rest of the day. They like to eat when I get home from work and Im in the kitchen with them.

Yes that sounds pretty good. This is my routine: Dog eats during the night. Wake up. Take dog out. Feed. Eat breakfast. Walk dog. Go to work. Come home. Let dog out. Feed. Eat dinner. Walk dog. Sleep. Start all over.

walk the dog then feed him. holding the urine could cause problems....and a hard long walk After feeding can cause bloat.
so walk dog for long walk when ya first get up then feed dog while u get ready for work or what ever...then before u leave stort walk just to see if she's gotta go.
i don't know bout u but the bathroom is my first stop in the morning! eatting is far from what i want to do.lol

In my house the dogs go out first thing in the morning - often before I get to use the bathroom. They've held it all night long, they deserve to go! Then they get breakfast. Then they get a quick turn outside before I leave for work.
In the evenings, we go for a long walk. Then they have dinner, then they go out for a final potty right before bed.
My guys haven't had an accident in the house (unless they're sick) in years.
Just remember, dogs should not do any heavy exercising (like running) for at least an hour before and after eating; otherwise they could suffer from gastric torsion (aka bloat).

To solve the problem...take a small treat with you on your walk, give it to you dog half way through, never walk dog on a full tummy, there is a condition GDV, causes a dogs stomach to bloat and trap gases, fatal.
So always walk before a feed, never feed before a walk.

You should take your dog out, when you get up in the morning to allow it to go to the bathroom, then feed, and then you will need to take it out again after you've fed it.

depending on what kind of dog you have, it is suggested for some dogs to not have any kind of activity period after eating because it could cause bloat (usually in deep chested dogs) i let my dogs out first thing in the morning but i only feed them once a day in the evening.
