Prepare a septic tank. Put some anaerobic microbes into the sewage. Allow for days retention of the sewage. Methane and other gases comes out, which can be tapped by a vent. If your quantity of sewage is small, possibly, you can't even feel that the gases are coming. This methane rich gas is called biogas.

In Dindigul and other areas, this is widely used by combining the sewage flow from many many houses.
