The first time I was pregnant I was scared the whole time. Not of being pregnant but of the labor itself. My mother is a nurse at the hospital who takes care of moms and babys so she has actually helped women deliver before. That in itself should aleveate some of my worries. My first pregnancy took about two day. I went to the hospital dilated to a five. My contractions hurt like #####. They gave me something to take the bite off the contractions, but it made them stop. So they decided to induce me. This made me think it would hurt worse so I opted for a epidural. The first one wore off and they gave me another one. Which didnt fully take, but because of it I was stuck to the bed, with a catherter in me. I still felt the contractions but was stuck to the bed. It was a nightmare. It hurt and I could do none of the things that they tell you to do to deal with the contractions. Like get in a better position. My feet were in stirrups when they told me to push.

I was dilated to a nine when they told me to push. I had labored long and hard. The epidural didnt work so I felt all that pain for hours. I ripped upward when the baby came out. Now that I'm about to go into labour again Im doubly scared I so dont wont another experience like last time. Anyone have any advice.

I went through almost the same thing you did! I've been pregnant 3 times now, and I was TERRIFIED through the entire pregnancies! I dread being in labor. It is terrifying.
Fortunately for me, my second and third delivery were MUCH, MUCH easier than the first. Both went much faster and smoother. It's easier to give birth when you've done it before.
I know it won't do me any good to tell you not to worry, because people told me that too, and it didn't help. Seriously though, it will be so much easier this time. It's still scary, but if you're prepared, it won't be near as bad as the first time.
Also, don't think about the labor. The more you linger on it, the more afraid you'll be. Just think about the baby you'll have afterwards!
Good luck hun!

My first thought is to say, sure it hurts but you got pregnant again in spite of that. It is painful but think of the joy that the new baby will bring you, and with time all of the pain goes away. Secondly, you should talk to your doctor about your fear, no two pregnancies or deliveries are the same, this time may be completely different. If the epidural isn't helping tell the nurse, it may be possible for the anesthician to give you a "boost" with a shot directly into the IV. If you want to take this road, alot more doctors are doing scheduled c-sections, that may be an option for you.

Don't worry sweetie!!!! I'm pregnant with my second, and I had a horrible first birth. But they say second and subsequent births are so much easier.
Don't do the epidural. You won't need it. Take some classes and read some books on natural birth. You can do it! Your body was made for this!
All the stuff they did to you during the first delivery was a mistake. You were already in labor and dilated to a 5 (great!!!!) then they gave you something to "take the edge off" and it stopped the contractions (first mistake.) Then, they had to give you something to get them going again (second mistake.)
See, just trust your body and you will do fine!

If you're concerned, wait till you pay attention again out of your surgeon to inform persons. I was once thirteen weeks earlier than I informed anybody, and I nonetheless am scared that I'm going to miscarry after which need to inform all people the dangerous information. A little recognizing is average and occurred to me as much as approximately week eleven-12. Good success!

If it was that painful why would you want to do it again? Every delivery is different though so don't sweat it. I have had 3 children & they were all a little different {nothing like your first though} Good luck

first off, congratulations!
second, if you fight your labor and fight the contractions, instead of just letting your body do what it needs to do, its going to be a long hard road. try relaxing, relying on your coach, and getting meds you need.
also, just relax, before you go into labor. if you stress out, that affects the baby too, and wears you out with the energy you need to conserve for labor! try keeping yourself busy with doing light work with getting things ready, talking to friends, and relaxing!
