you have to go cold turkey under a doctors care
make sure your OB doctor knows you were on drugs so he can monitor the fetus
the baby will go through withdrawal also
by the third month of pregnancy the fetus is completely formed and just has to mature and grow to term

Stop using before the baby is affected. It takes about six weeks for most of the drugs to work their way out, then stop. Some States, Nevada for one, can and does prosecute for women that have babies that are born under the influence.

depends on how serious you were on narcotics, advise your ob/gyn ..you may need to be monitored as the previous post stated. if you were heavy ..the baby can withdawl and both of you can have serious complications

I mean it depends on what kind of drug (some drugs you have to stay on it and be weaned and other you can just quit)... but your OB should def know about it. I know if a patient is on meth while preg they should not quit cold turkey, but the doctor should know about it.
