your christian.

weather you want to call it something different or not. bottom line,
CHRIST = CHRISTian.

Startting fights over a stupid name, is so petty it makes GOD cry.

Just learn to live and let live. "

I've heard this before too. So tell me then why you don't think of Muslims that way? Muslims believe in Christ. We believe he will come again. We accept Christ. We just don't believe in his divinity. Christ does not mean divine. It means annointed one and there were many others that were annointed.

Birdie,Birdie,Birdie --I actually know Greek and YOU are wrong!!!!

The Greek word for Christ, Christianos, means literally "follower of Christ."

The Greek word for Christ is not Christianos. :) plus I do follow Christ -- who are you to day I don't? I am sure if I went to your church you would be doing a ton of things that Christ did not do - nor say to do since they came about WAY after his 'death' and the deaths of his apostles. Peace-

Lazarus: Mohammed said flat out in the Hadith Sahith Bukhari, Vol 4, book 51, #14: "Save yourselves from hellfire, as I cannot save you from God's punishment."

Right, we are each to be judged individualy.

Jesus WAS NOT THE ONLY ANNOINTED ONE--go look at what I said before.

I don't need somebody to die for my sins. I will die and be judged by God, end of story.

I imagine God's love is so great he does not lie and when he says he will judge us he will.

BlessingSeeker--Jesus never claimed to be God--sorry to dissapoint you.

Many believe Jesus existed. That does not make them Christian. Christians believe Jesus died on the cross to save them from their sins and that by believing this, they are the only ones that will go to heaven. If you don't believe this, you are NOT a Christian.

Here's the problem: if Christ is not divine, He could not die for your sins, He'd have His own to die for. Only God through Jesus could make the sacrifice necessary for our redemption and forgiveness. Can you imagine that kind of love?

Mohammed said flat out in the Hadith Sahith Bukhari, Vol 4, book 51, #14: "Save yourselves from hellfire, as I cannot save you from God's punishment."

Christ can save us. "Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven, given to men, by which we must be saved." Acts 4:12 Holy Bible NIV

Muslims think Christ was a prophet, but the key is Christ's divinity. Anointed One applies only to Jesus, God's only son. Jesus was God, in human form.

Without His divine heritage He was just another sinner. Praise to Him our Lord and Savior Jesus, without whom we would have no hope at all.

(added later: sorry, this was a typo... Greek word for Christian is "Christos"... but it does mean follower of Christ. My post wasn't pointed directly at you, FEZ, so don't have a conniption. I was only clarifying. BTW: if you can make the assumption about my church, which you know nothing about, then how are you to get angry over me assuming that you don't follow Christ? Maybe you should be a little clearer in your posts...)

The Greek word for Christ, Christianos, means literally "follower of Christ."

This means more than just believing in Christ, or believing that He existed. It means following His teachings.

Matthew 16:14-17 says:
When Jesus came to the region of Caesarea Philippi, he asked his disciples, "Who do people say the Son of Man is?"

They replied, "Some say John the Baptist; others say Elijah; and still others, Jeremiah or one of the prophets."

"But what about you?" he asked. "Who do you say I am?"

Simon Peter answered, "You are the Christ, the Son of the living God."

Jesus replied, "Blessed are you, Simon son of Jonah, for this was not revealed to you by man, but by my Father in heaven."

Jesus Himself taught that He is the Son of God. He also said, "I and My Father are One." (John 10:30)

So if you don't believe in Christ's divinity, then you are not His follower, because you don't follow His teachings.

Believing He exists is not enough to call yourself a Christian.

Why you Muslims doesn't have another topic, is not enough with terrorism and war, with the difficult life of Mohamed, you have to be here digging in and out and about Jesus everyday and then complaining cause people doesn't respect you and bla, bla, bla...

Why you don't understand or don't want to understand, imagine Christians speaking about Moises an David on and on...and saying like truth the most stupid inspiration theories...wanting to show off and to know more about David than the same Jews...this will not be annoying, bigot, unproductive and stupid..

So why you go there and there...and digging and a again... because at the end you think that YOU will make Jesus Muslim (blashemy) you like people tell you **** off and then report and complain...don't you.

at the start the Quran would not consult with a e book yet a MESSAGE. The Message that Jesus introduced. which isn't the message in the Bible. The bible is the Human interpritation of that message. Jesus became into in no way "handed the Gospel" HE became into THE GOSPEL. The strolling talking message of Allah(SWT) His phrases have been the Injeel. The Injeel isn't the bible. The bible is a e book of comments approximately Jesus that have been replaced and edited many times. And the Quran makes it sparkling that Jesus isn't the son of Allah. God would not would desire to slump so low as to procreate. he's a author He has no would desire to Procreate. And the Quran in no way says that Jesus became into or would be "resurected" he will return besides the undeniable fact that that's obvious he has not died. in case you have not died you won't be in a position to be "resurected" in the way you consult with it. All that pronounced you're actually not asking a query in any respect. you do not want to take heed to the respond. you're ranting, twisting and outright lieing approximately our e book to aim to coach your individual Fataly unsuitable e book. So my question is that if Christianity is so great why do not you communicate approximately how good that's extremely of attacking something you know not something approximately. And no rely if that's that certainly one of those great faith why are human beings like myself, raised religious Christians, working to Islam. via fact we've study the two books and there is not any assessment. The Quran is logical and proper and is sensible, The Quran is each and every thing that Allah(SWT) is. The Bible is definitely..... Human. that's gloomy that folk experience that Christians experience the would desire to make faith extra like assault politics. In Politics maximum folk have the common-experience to work out that if a newborn-kisser spends all his time attacking his opponent that's via fact he has not something to grant. And in factor of fact with faith that's the comparable. in case you would be able to desire to spend all some time attacking different faiths that's in view which you're too afraid to communicate approximately your individual faith via fact faster or later human beings will see the very fact and run any opposite direction. in case you quite need to covert human beings that's not the thank you to do it.

You have to believe on the name of Christ to be saved. Just defining what a particular groups thinks Jesus is can deny Jesus name.
Salvation appears to be only effective if you believe He is who He claimed He is.
e.g. the most basic salvation requirement is given in Romans 10:9-10. Certainly one can't be saved from sins by Him if one doesn't believe He paid for them on the cross.

Wrong! Even Satan believed in Christ. Christianity about obedience to God's word. Christianity is about accepting Jesus as your savior, repentence of sin, being baptized, and following Jesus. It's the obedience and service that follows salvation--that's what makes one a Christian.

Well, it's not just believing in the existence of Christ that makes one a Christian, it's believing in the divinity of Christ or at least that Christ came as a savior and acceptance of his sacrifice is the means to redemption.

2007-05-09 07:18:42 · answer #8 · answered by Anonymous · 2 1

Even Satan and the demons believed in Christ - in that they know who he is/was. That doesn't make them Christian's either.
As far as Christianity is concerned, you need to believe that Jesus Christ existed, was/is God's son, and sacrificed his life for the sins of everyone, and try to live your life by following in JC's footsteps.
That's a Christian - a follower of Christ. It implies action. Not just belief.
