My hair is sort of long, like eight inches below my shoulders. It's sort of a dirty blonde. I had it tapered a bit a few months ago, but that's mostly grown out so for the most part it's all one length. When I let it air dry it's mostly straight but a bit frizzy and I get little waves by my face (SUPER annoying!). I want to change it. I'm willing to get it cut to a couple inches below my shoulders and layered, but the layers all have to be long enough that I can pull everything up into a ponytail.

Pictures would be awesome. Thank you so mcuh for your time.

The picture I just put in might not show up, but if it does, it sort of shows the lenght, color, and texture of my hair.

I have similar hair to yours... I have long(ish) layers, and I just asked the hair stylist to give me some long layers and angle it around my face, and my hair looks awesome and is less boring than just plain all one- length straight hair... And it feels less heavy in the summer time, too... I also brought a picture of Ashlee Simpson and asked for that hairstyle... go to yahoo.com, search 'ashlee simpson hair' in images and check out the first one in the third row down.. that's what I got, and it doesn't look as choppy as it shows it in the picture unless you really take care of it every day, like showering right in the morning, blow drying and styling it. It can also be pulled back into a really cute ponytail and it looks even better than a normal styled pony tail, because it kind of flares out at the sides and curls up slighly at the end, lind of like Sandy from Greese the original... (a little bit...) And mine is a little bit longer than in the picture, and appears less choppy. I also have the side bangs, but I always clip them up, as they often get messed up unless you spend a good amount of time on the bangs every day. If you don't do this, like mine, it doesn'tlook right and gets in my eyes a lot. If you do get side bangs, try them only on one side, as they cut the side bangs on both sides, making them look worse (to me) and harder to control, also making your forehead apear much smaller. I hoipe I helped.
Good Luck!

There's tons of hair magazines at the library with pictures.

You can experiment with fringe if you're not ready to cut all your hair, but I think a shorter cut would look healthy and fresh.
