I think that is an old wise tale, that parents told thier kids, so that they wouldn't shave thier eyebrows, or arms, or anything else. If that was the case I think mot balding men would try it.

No. This is a common myth in hairstyling.

I'm a hairstylist and I think the reason this rumor might exist is because some people have breakage that is really short (or like with babies, their hair is all different lengths) so cutting it all one length makes it FEEL like it grows in thicker because all the hair is the same length.

But you can never increase the number of follicles on your scalp. And you can never make your hair much thicker without daily styling techniques. Your strand of hair is just a predetermined diameter.

No. Cutting hair makes it appear thicker because uncut hair tapers to a point at the end, so if you cut them, the point is gone and you are left with a hair that is the same thickness all the way down.

No. Shaving gives the hair a blunt edge, which only makes it look thicker.

well people say that but i am not sure usually the hair on your head will take a bit longer to grow and it might be thicker.

My mom had to shave mine when I was a baby because I was sick and the docs needed the veins on my scalp. My hair on that area of my head has always been thicker. I don't know about adults though. I've heard from a lot of people that it does.

no, it just feels thicker growing in because the ends are blunt

wish it were true though!

yeah it depends on if you keep shaving it or not a few times doesnt really affect it but if you keep it shaved over the year yes it will cause your hair to thicken
