Wear the wrap during the ceremony, esp. if it's in a church.

No. A strapless dress is not acceptable as a guest at a wedding. You should dress more conservatively and not show as much skin. I'd also get some information about the wedding- what time of day, where is it being held etc. I would think the cocktail dress might even be a bit too formal for it.

You're fine.. sounds like a lovely dress! The baby blue or pink wrap sounds hideous though. The bride herself is likely to be wearing a strapless dress so you needn't fret about covering up your shoulders.. last time I looked they weren't considered risque :)

It's best to wear a type of shall or little jacket type top covering your shoulders during the ceremony. Then, going strapless at the reception is great.

You are certainly safe from the fashion etiquette point of view (it is spring, warm and the reception is at a golf club) but you will definitely be the the center of attention and criticism for all the envious female onlookers and the conservative middle age participants.
Wear it proudly and feel as fresh, summery and sexy as the description of your dress sounds!

Considering that is fashion now a days, and that most people would be wearing a strapless dress, I say go for it.

I think you would be fine in a strapless dress. especailly in the summer. Of coarse the weather may be permitting.
