There is all manner of sin. From a human point of view I would reckon Attila the Hun, Tamerlaine, Genghiz Khan or Adolf Hitlers' multiple murders were the worst.
The only thing that can be regarded as the greatest sin from the christian perception is rejecting God's Messiah and Saviour Jesus Christ. Because then all a person's other sins count against them at the Last Judgement.

I do not believe that there is a greatest sin. God does not judge or punish according to the magnitude of a sin. He judges by the mere fact that it is sin. There is no great or small sin.

To a Muslim, the greatest sin is associating partners with God. There is only One God. The punishment is eternal wrath.

To GOD telling a lie and killing a person is the same. It is still a sin both ways.
The unpardonable sin is Blasphemy of the Holy Spirit.

Apathy. It allows the other sins to come into play because no one cares. I'm not sure there should be a pat punishment. Generally it is it's own punishment.

Blasphemy against the holy spirt is the only unforgivable sin and I think the punishment is for God to decide.

The greatest sin is PRIDE. All other sins stem from pride. The punishment = SEPARATION from God. (If you know who He is then this separation is the worst punishment) Nuff said.

According to Jesus it's being blasphemous against the holy spirit that will not be forgiven. Man punishes differently than god. Gods punishment is the same for all- death.

Believing that which has been 'invented' by man to manipulate the masses thoughts and feelings in the name of 'God'. Is not the everyday suffering members of organized religions, punishment enough?
