Each year about 2500 tonnes of CDs & DVDs are sent to landfill. They can contrary to public belief be recycled and not just as bird feeders, fun microwave entertainment or frisbees as touted on some websites. There are a number of companies that will recycle your compact discs for free. This article lists three companies in the UK, however I am sure there are others in the US that will also carry out this recycling process.
