HELL YEAH!
I cannot *stand* to listen to the country music radio anymore. Country music today pisses me off and makes me sick. It used to be about cheatin' hearts, jail, railroads, bad men and women, tough lives, etc. Now every single song is a sappy, drippy suburban ballad about abused children, angels in heaven, how much Jesus loves you, men who love their wives, firemen rescuing babies, and the American flag. Puke, give me perfidy, booze and jail any day!

Exactly. I don't even listen to it any more. I don't know what's happened. When I have listened to it recently all the girls try to sound the same and it's just not country. I turned it on CMT the other day (first time in a long time) and I didn't know single person on there.. and I didn't want to either. I think they all are horrible now. I see you mentioned Pirates of the Mississippi- I wonder why they never made it big.. They were a great band with a different sound. I always thought Confederate Railroad never got the recognition they deserved either. Patty Loveless can out sing any of the new women but I guess because of her age and country sound she don't fit in any more. I can't believe it when you turn on the Grand Ole Opry. It's horrible. Luckily, we have a radio station that plays old country around here and then Willies place on Sirius is ok. If it don't change from what it is now I won't be listening to it at all.

I miss Garth brooks, and Reba, even Martina Mcbride sold out--she used to be worth listening to, why do christians listen to that tripe when it's obvious they just slip the word "jesus" in to make more money off the vapid?--none of these country stars were bible bangers five years ago, wake up!!!

Yeah. And when it was actually about life and it's hardships. Not partying and a "Honky-Tonk Badonkadonk" - While the singers wear crosses. Typical christian hypocrisy.
