The guy who lives next door to my parents children never go to school, they live in filthy environment. He goes out late at night to pick up trash and metal scraps. Then this stuff sits all over his property. It looks like a dump on the outside and the inside of his home not any better. My parent dont want to call because this guy has angry issue and they dont what might happen if he think they did it. They really hoping that the school will do it since they have very poor attendance.
So what is the best way of helping them?

Child protective services are confidential and all call in are anonymous. They do not tell the parents anything other than the accusations in the complaint.

You can look up your state's child services number most likely in the blue pages of your phone book. Since you are just considered a neighbor, then I am sure that you can report anonymously, unless you live in a state that require identification so that they can determine if your report is legitimate and true. You will need to report everything you know about the family and the conditions you see happening. You need to also explain his angry demeanor as well.
I would report it as soon as you can. Many cases of abused children will go unreported because people don't want to get involved. But it is these same people that will blame the system for not helping these children. Step up and become the children's voices. Stop the violence!

Your best approach would be to go online and look for the Child Protective Service Department of your state. Most states have a form you can fill online and submit anonymously. If this is not available to you, you can call via telephone and refuse giving your name. This is your right, and you are protected. Do what is best for these children. Take care.

First of all its an anomonous phone call to CPS. They won't know that it was you who called, CPS don't give out the names of callers for the safety of that caller. But I will tell you that you need to call someone about this situation because it could and will get worse. The same sinario happened just a block away from where I live 2 years ago. But it was about meth and the 6 yr. old DIED of beatings and salt poisioning.. So i urge you to call someone today.

You can call Child protective services anonymously. You don't have to give your name or number. But just to be sure they can't get the phone number you are calling from...block it or call from a payphone. Do the right thing for those kids! Also, CPS can not reveal who made the complaint. That is confidential information.

When you call DFACS (that what child protective services is here), they don't release your name. It's confidential. They will investigate the guy and see what's going on in the house. It's strange though that the school hasn't called already. I thought if a child missed over a certain number they would be called in to investigate. HTH.

Anyone can call child protective services anonymously and submit a claim against alledge neglect, abuse, etc...on a child or the elderly.
Explain to your parents that as his neighbor they are responsible to make sure the kids are okay.

Just call...they dont have to know you did it. They're not gonna ask u for a bunch of personal info. Just tell them whats goin on and advise them to have someone come investigate.
Or you can just sit back and feel bad when something really terrible happens to those children...

You should probably go ahead and contact child services. In New Jersey, anyway, they are prohibited from saying who called. You might ask them about that and explain his anger issues. But it wouldn't hurt to be anonymous.
