it's probably the food you are feeding him. i have had boxers for 5 years now and they had always had hoooorible gas (i fed them very expensive food and it didn't help) but because of all of the dogfood recalls i decided to be proactive about their health and switched them to raw food (raw meat and bones with a little bit of veggies) and their gas has disappeared completely and they are healthier than ever. here is a link to the book that i bought that helped me make the decision to switch

Most of the time when I get a question like this, I just suggest a change in diet and the problem is all cleared up. However, there are a few rare cases where, unfortunately, you just have a dog who is gassy. It can be a symptom of stomach or gastrointestinal problems, so before you do anything, I would consult with a vet. Get your dogs health cleared, and then try switching foods. It's weird to think of it this way, but in my clinic there seems to be a trend with gassy dogs... If the food you give your dog is colorful, he's more likely to have a gas problem. I know it sounds crazy, and there is obviously no scientific evidence supporting this, but I've found it to be true. Switch to a food that's a little more bland, which is colored with browns and tans, rather than reds and greens. I feel for you, I have a Bulldog who is full of gas 24/7, and he lets us know frequently. Good luck!

I addition to tips already recieved try adding 2 tablespoons of yogurt to food once a day. Something about the enzymes in it helps alot for any dog that has gas.

It's probably his dog food. Dogs are like humans, certain foods cause excessive fermintation which causes gas to build up. Try changing his dog food. I'm not sure if there's a anti-gas product for pets. Mylocon drops work well for humans but I'm not sure of it's safe for pets. Hope this helps you out.

Did you make an abrupt change in his diet? Buy a good quality dog food. Mix his current dog food with the new dog food, and slowly ween him off the old stuff.

My vet told me to give my dog plain white rice (no salt, no butter added). This helped my dog when he had an upset stomach.
