No one really does aerobic dancing anymore. It's all about eliptical trainers, treadmills, pilates machines, etc. I miss the cheesy leotards!

Those tapes are still an effective workout today! They might not be the "trendy" thing to do, like yoga or pilates or spinning... but as long as they get your blood pumping, that's what counts. Millions of people still do "Sweatin' with the Oldies", so who cares what the video is, or who's in it! If you're going to get sweaty... get sweaty doing something you like. I have a horrible 80's aerobic video that was shot on the beach in Hawaii with a muscled-up guy and his leotard-clad sidekicks... make fun of it if you will, but I love it!

I still work out to an old Richard Simmons VHS tape. I like doing it and get a good aerobic workout. I can't afford to buy equipment and don't have room for any anyway and can't really afford a gym either.

What is in fashion has no bearing on the effectiveness (or ineffectiveness) of a workout. The human physiology does not care about fashion trends.
