How do they put the ink in ballpoint pen ink cartridges?

I'm teaching a 4th grade Junior Achievement class, and a student asked me this question. I didn't know, but told him I'd try to find out!! -RKO- 05/09/07

good question. the answer is the ink is pumped into the tube before the writing ball mechanism is added.
