Would you all pray for Julie, whose grandma went to Hell?
Julie is saved, cause she knelt at the Baptist preacher's altar, and did the special incantation.
Unfortunately, her beloved grandma, who was occupied in a scientific career, a molecular biologist at the Hauser Institute, didn't get saved.
Oh yes, she was a kind and good woman.
But you must understand: She could not bring herself to believe that Jesus got up after being dead three days, and started walking around like nothing ever happened, then rose into the sky and became a god.
Try as she may, she couldn't manage to believe it.
Now she has gone to Hell.
Julie is distraught.
I have sought to comfort Julie, and explained to her that God will wipe away all cares, and in Heaven she will not care if her grandma is in Hell.
Will you all pray for Julie, so she can accept my words of comfort?

Fantastic, good to see another person understanding the logical errors that result from Arminian theology. But wait, let's finish this up.
You and I both know that God was hoping, wishing, begging for Grandma to come to Him all her life, and she refused. Of course Jesus died for everybody, so no distinction between the status of the saved and the unsaved until the great dividing line of death, after which God's infinite love for Grandma had to suddenly turn to anger. We don't know how God could have created Hell and then been sad about tossing people in at the end of their days, but we chalk it up to a mystery and keep clinging to our bad theology.
Yes, Grandma resisted the power of God who must have coaxed and pushed Grandma to the point of choice, but in the end science won out and God lost. Poor God. Maybe that's why he created Hell.
But, we must continue to hope that Julie will not fall away from the faith! After all, salvation is in her hands, and I suppose it should be if we have such a weak God that He can't do anything about our choices anyway.

Um, ok.....Jesus did not become a god after "rising" from the dead. That would imply there are 2 gods, and from what I understand from most Christian teachings, there is only one god.
Secondly....scientists do not automatically go to "hell"
Thirdly.....What the????????? I think Julie could get better comfort from someone else since you seem to be very closed minded.
By the way, I am pagan.

Do you honestly believe this living in the 21st century? Didn't you know that the word God comes from the Hebrew word Yahweh, which translates literally to "LOVE"? Also, isn't God supposed to be this all-loving, and understanding person? We are all human, God gave us free will. This woman is not in hell, because there IS NO SUCH THING!!!!!!! Why would God want to make people suffer, especially if they were good people living good lives!? Tell her don't worry, at absolute worst, this woman is in "Limbo", or maybe hopping down the bunny trail with the tooth fairy in a kingdom far far away, and they will all live happily ever after

I will pray for you and for Julie.... we can share truth with many but only few will respond and choose to follow Jesus. If Julie is a true christian, she didnt 'recite an incantation' as you so 'eloquently' wrote... but she turned her life over to Christ, body and soul.. and serves Him now.
She can find peace knowing that her grandmother had the choice, knew what it was about, and chose to not follow Jesus... and that it was of her own choosing, to spend eternity away from her grandchild, Julie.
And this prayer is coming from a person who studied for a scientific career... believes in scientific progress and understanding... believes that doctors and scientists can help the world thru their discoveries and works.... and has found that no amount of human 'knowledge' can make someone believe in Jesus Christ and all He has done for us.... but Spiritual knowledge can open even more to life than this 'world' can give us.
remember... being 'good' is relevant to 'who' is setting the bar as to what 'good' is..... I know that what i 'do' cannot get me to heaven... only what i have Faith in.. and that is Jesus, who didnt 'become' God but was fully God while fully human on this earth... and fullfilled all scripture prophecies... but not because I have read it in a book, but have experienced the hope and love and strength that can only be given by God

Bow down before the one you serve, you're going to get what you deserve, head like a hole, I'd rather die than give you control!#%$@*^!!
Julie's Grandma can visit me anytime I am having a feast for the Dead and I will pray to EN.KI, the god of Science to guide her over the river of forget and on towards SwartzAlfheim where her obvious intellect will serve the balance properly.

All I can do is shake my head. As a Baptist, do you not believe the Bible? (Please read 1Peter 3:19:20, and ESPECIALLY 1Peter 4:6)
Then get back to us. I cannot comfort you with anything more than the truth, and the TRUE power of Christ.
He is the judge of the quick AND the dead!

You don't know who goes to hell. Only God knows. She could have repented and become born again seconds before her death.
Incantation? Christians don't have "incantations". Do you mean prayer? The sinners prayer?
"Became "a god"? Jesus is part of the Trinity. He is God, not "a god". He was there during the days of creation as the creator.

This again?
We really need to make this part of the R&S drinking game, if it isn't already. You can bet that at least four or five times a week, somebody's going to come up with this same ridiculous scenario to try to make Christianity look bad. (I suspect it's the same person, based on the phraseology and almost identical content, but I can't prove that.)
So allow me to buy the R&S house a round of their favorite potables in honor of this silly "no-question" question. Salut!
