EEEEWWWWW! Sweetie. Gross man. Ever heard of back wash? What do you think that little bit of liquid left on the other persons spoon is? Yuk. I'm grossed out here. Unless! I'ts ice cream. I love sharing ice cream...........sometimes! Don't even think of touching my pistachio! :~D

It depends, it's really a measure of 'organic consistency gradient'... in lamens terms, what micro-organisms were in the bowl and how do they infect a host. Most of the time any bacteria that can infect a human digestive system will pass right through saliva, which in this case is what you're hoping to avoid by switching spoons. However, they can still transfer from the bowl even with different spoons. Don't discount how much they have adapted to infect their target.

My dog & i eat out of the same bowl all the time. We dont get sick.

yeah. think about it: someone puts their spit all over a spoon, then touches that spitty spoon to a bowl...then you touch your spoon to that same bowl and put it into your mouth.
