Don't blame the pilot. Blame the Coward terrorists that were firing from the schoolhouse. And also find something else to gripe about blaming our soldiers, sailors, marines, and airman for problems caused by someone else(terrorists) is getting pretty damn old.

It doesn't take much to knock out a helichopter. While it is probable those children didn't entirely comprehend what they were doing (and that they might not have grown up to be terrorists), it doesn't really matter, right now they are dangerous.
That pilot might've killed those children, but that pilot didn't set them up to die. He was attacked and he reacted. The people that are guilty of those deaths are the men that put guns in their hands and told them to shoot at helichopter.
"Innocent by reason of insanity" only matters after the fact (and in my opinion only should be allowed if the cause can be treated so that no relapses occur). When things are going down, it doesn't matter.
Is it a tragedy? Yes. Should there be a parade? No.
Honestly, anyone that blames the pilot for his actions is horrible because that pilot probably is already carrying way too much unjustified guilt.
Only cowards hide behind children and other non-combatants. And only cowards recruit children that don't know right from wrong.

They knew what would happen if they were to fire on the helo from a schoolhouse. They didn't care about the children, they just wanted the helo to return fire and get blamed for attacking a bunch of innocent children in a school. They have no problem hiding behind anyone to attack, to them there are no innocent people.

Maybe instead of blaming the pilot you should be blaming the terrorist that was hiding amongst the school children. These people have no problem putting the most innocent among us in danger and yet you blame the pilot.

Germany bombed cities in WWII in countries they overtook just because they could. The Soviet Union put bombs in toys and dropped them in Afganistan to wound the children (and killed over 1 million people in Afganistan). The U.S. is one of a handful of countries that would even bother to minimize civilian casualties.
