Christians: What have atheists ever done to you, personally, that makes them feel like a threat to you?

Atheists: What have christians ever done to you, personally, that make them feel like a threat to you?

You both have a right to think whatever you want. If you don't want to hear what the other has to say, don't ask. If you're offended by them, leave the site. Why is this so childish?

If I have a question about God, I get 48 answers, 24 telling me to read the Bible or I'm not a real believer, and 24 others telling me how dumb I am for believing. I just wish everyone would calm down, step back from the computer, and take some deep breaths.

In any relationship, there must be a line that neither one crosses with the other. The same is certainly true with a society, yet we have degraded into letting ANYTHING go and just look the other way. There needs to be some moral standard and I feel it's a great mistake to tailor it to the least moral of us, to prevent anyone taking offense.

The real quesiton is: why do people expect higher standards and well-thought answers for Yahoo Answers? This is a site where anybody can register for free and claim to be whatever they want, and the questions come up so fast that it looks like an active chat room. So it's going to be a mess. Besides, it's not like this is the only place on the internet to discuss religion.

Made all three of my children cry. Told me and my children that we deserve to burn in hell. Have caused untold grief and alienation in my (birth) family. Ruined my wedding.

I don't think you're dumb for believing. I have respect for a lot of Christians on here. Just hang in there - there are a few thinking, reasonable christians. Look up Dog Sneeze and TTC.

I've never felt that anyone was ever a threat to me. I want to hear all of it, whether I agree with it or not. There's always room for growth.

My Christian friend locked me in a room with her and tried to convert me until 4 in the morning

when she first locked the door I thought "Hey cool! We're gonna get freaky!"

I was severely disappointed.

Christians are hardly a threat to me, they just annoy me with their unwillingness to look at things from a different perspective.

I fully expected the next line to be "the Muslim ducked."

And see religious opposition to basic civil rights like marriage for same sex couples for your answer.
