Eggs last a loooong time - but by far the easiest way to spot one is if it floats in water toss it out! A fresh egg will sink.

My home economics teacher said, Always use a seperate petri dish for each egg you crack...then that way there is no worries, for your baked, or other foods.
Me, hmmm, I just crack em all in the same bowl...or pan, if one was rotten I would freak!!!
then throw em all out, and start over, if I didn't feel naseous, how ever you spell nausious...nausea...
So I don't know, if it has been sitting out, throw it out...keep em in the fridge, and you should be fine.

Look at my ex husband! Ha.
No, seriously, just put it in a cup of cold water and if it even remotely floats, it's bad.
