I dated on-line for several years before meeting my husband, who I also met on-line.

Post your own ad. Include a headshot photo. (body length photos attract more men who are only looking for an easy lay).
No glamour shots. They're phony. Make sure you indicate you are looking for a relationship. Do not check, "just looking", "dating" or "something else." List your criteria. That's the hard part. Really think about what you want. Be honest with yourself. Don't settle.

Screen your responses. Look for punctuation and grammar. Delete ones who say, "u r cute", etc.

Do not respond back right away. You'll look desperate, as though you don't have a life. If after 2-3 emails he hasn't asked you for a phone number (or offered his) AND suggested meeting, move on. They just want penpals, or aren't interested enough to take time to meet you.

I know a lot of people prefer to meet over coffee. I had better luck with men who were willing to block out an entire day or at least a couple hours for lunch or dinner for me. It showed they were serious. Anyone can slip off to coffee. A meal shows they want to get to know you.

Always meet in a public place. Do not go to their house. You look desperate, and they look lazy.

Good luck!

Uhm, well if you are under the age of 16, you definitely should not. He could be like, a 50 year old man. If you are above 16, then sure I don't see the harm.. But you should probably take a friend with you just in case.. The truth is, he's probably not going to be what you expected though. Online & in real life are TOTALLY different. What if you aren't what he expected? It's up to you if you want to do it. If you really like him, then yeah. But I wouldn't. Good luck! (:

I wish I knew. We all do. There are a few sincere people online, but the rest of them treat it like a huge catalog where they keep flipping the pages, looking for someone new, someone different, something else. Online dating has simply made it more difficult to find someone who cares to be faithful.

If I were you I would not even go that route. Online dating can be very, very dangerous. It is obvious that the sites you must be visiting are not productive in decent men responding. What are you saying in your conversations? A lot depends upon your age, maturity, a lot of things. Be careful if you decide to continue. I would not trust it.

Nothing can start serious or end serious when there is not a relationship lurking around any where here except cyber dreams!

I've met dozens of women on myspace, had sex with most of them and never called them again, the net probably isn't the place for a serious relationship

They will talk to you just long enough to see if you're going to sleep with them right away. If you don't immediately start talking about sex, they pull a disappearing act. Bunch of pus*ies!!!
