Sounds like you only recognize the Old Testament. They had tons of rules just for food alone. The new Testament sticks with the 10 commandments to follow. In Jesus teachings, many times he would say ( not quoted but in context) " That was the old way. Now I am here and here is the new way"
This is why the bible is separated up to Christ's birth and then goes all new Testament.
Old testament also has the family genealogy and much history that HAS been verified. Having said that, you are free to believe what you want. God gave us free will.

What if it isn't true? or you can ask What if the Dharma is true? What if the Quran is true? What if the Talmud is true? What if the Bhagavad Gita is true? What if the Book of Mormon is true? What if Dianetics is true?
There are many other religious texts and books out there, that you can ask the same question of. Why is the bible automatically taken as truth, and questioners condemned. It isn't the only book of worship, it wasn't the first, and it wasn't the last.
Happy searching, and Happy Reading!

Then everybody is screwed, because if you read the Bible, and write down all the rules the Bible says are necessary to follow in order to get into Heaven, you'd see that NOBODY is going to Heaven, because the rules are impossible to follow, and some of them even contradict one another.

Then I better stop eating oysters and wearing clothing of two different colored threads, because those are forbidden.
Actually, if the Bible is a literal account, then we're ruled by an insecure megalomaniac who went out of his way to deceive people by carefully making the world not resemble the creation story nor the flood story. I still wouldn't want to have anything to do with a prick like that.

That 'what if' can be used for every idea under the sun...many of the idea being contradictory and not compatible.
How do you choose which 'what if' to go with?

With so many contradictions already sorted out, I don't see the point in fantasizing about it.

Then those who believe in him will go to heaven and be with him forever. We will not have to deal with sickness, murderers, pedophiles, or anything sinful anymore.
I hope that this helped!~*
