OK everyone, listen up: I am tired of all the mindless bashing and hatemongering that is occurring here on Y!A. The final straw for me was "Yoda Green". I have never come across such a self righteous, hateful person. Personal attacks because of religious affiliation need to stop- from ALL sides!

R&S is SUPPOSED to be an open forum for questions and answers- not a playground for the school bully!

I consider myself to be a pretty intelligent person- I'm certainly not a physics professor, but I think I can hold my own :0) I would like to think that I have made friends with people of all faiths on here, and that there is mutual respect. I preach love and forgiveness, so I always try to pay those qualities forward. I will admit, I get sarcastic at times, but I make a concerted effort to never degrade or insult another participant.

But come on- to be openly hated with such intensity is just ridiculous! Am I wrong here? Have I made no friends? Is common courtesy dead?

Bettierage: Yoda Green attacked another participant- when I jumped in to defend the other person, he then turned his vitriol onto me. His immature attack on my intelligence was incredibly pompous and inappropriate, so yes, I am calling him out on that.

Thanks for pointing that one out. Of course you can have it both ways. The bible is inspired by God but written, translated and interpreted by feeble little us.

How about if we all just agree not to feed the hate. Not to justify their nasty questions. Just do not respond to anything anti this or that. Also to promptly leave off a question where a troll like that reponds.

If Yahoo isn't going to police their forums maybe we should.

Without the ability for negativity, the universe would lack the diversity that is needed to stimulate creativity. In other words, the potential for people to have adverse ideas, even ones that seem disrespectful, is necessary for a balanced universe. In all honesty, all though he may seem completely looney, he's not under your control. You are. You can either give him your strings and say "Here pull on these for a while, while I become upset and do what you want me to do" or you can accept the necessity of his existance and take a 3rd person perspective of observer in this specific situation. I don't think Buddha or Jesus would've called him names. All you have to control in this world is you, and it's your choice as to what you focus on. Between those two, the world can be perfect or it can seem like eternal suffering. Only you can pick which one it is.

I agree with you, and I'm as guilty of verbal sniping in the heat of the moment as anyone. I'm certainly not above admitting that.

That said, I think the very nature of religion brings out the worst in people, as evidenced by this forum.

He is the same kind for all religions.. maybe he was brought up that way where tolerance and kindness hasn't been taught or seen.

Yoda is actually really cool. Isn't this little personal attack exactly what you were complaining about?
