My breed of choice is the Doberman, but I currently own a pit bull and am fixing to bring my 15-year old border collie back from my parents house to live with me (they're elderly and living in a nursing home now and only their miniature dachshund is allowed).

My childhood dog was a German shepherd and my folks used to collect golden retrievers and Great Danes (as many as 5 GD's and 3 GR's in the house!) and my Dad trained several national champion hunting Labrador retrievers.

Bottom line - of the many, many purebreds and crossbreeds out there - they're all the same species. They're dogs. they're wonderful!

P.S. Chihuahuas were bred to hunt rats. Considering the size of a Chihuahua compared to the size of a rat, that's impressive. Believe me. Any animal that can take on an animal its own size (and as mean as a wild rat) and win - is a force to be reckoned with. Those little guys are truly great big dogs in a tiny little package.

my favorite dog was a rott and some sort of mastiff mix, he is 150 pounds of power, and was the best watch dog, but could be walked on any leash and never left the yard, the bad thing is people avoid walking on the same side of the street. I owned the mom and she only wieghted 70 pounds who'd to think he'd have puppies that big!
the dog pound i work for just had a litter of rott bullmastiff pups they were 25 pound 10 week old puts that looked like my mix so he was most likey a mastiff mix with rott, he was 28 pounds at 10 weeks and his sister was 22 pounds at 10 weeks she got to be 130 pounds.

Rare breed Beauceron. Most versatile dog you will ever see and loyal to a fault. My female came from France and is fantastic. Also have a 11 year old male Beauceron and a 11 year old Akita. But when the female is three she will have her first litter of pups. Seven have already been spoken for.

RIght now I have a beagle/spaniel mix dog. I've had a German Shepherd/Collie mix, Chichuahua, Yellow Lab/Spaniel mix, Rottweiller/Black Lab mix, a hound, and 2 English Springer Spaniels. I don't really have a favorite breed, as each one has its own plusses and minuses. My nicest dog was the Yellow Lab/Spaniel mix. My noisiest was the Chihuahua. My smartest were the English Springer Spaniels.

Mixed dogs are great. I seen a Chihuahua/Boston Terrier mix and that dog was soooo cute.

If I was to get a Dog the breed would be a Rhodesian Ridge-Back.

They were at one point used to Hunt Lion's in Africa.

We have a toy poodle who will be 15 this year, and a 3 month old Chihuahua. I like them both, but my favorite breed of dog I supposed would be a german shepherd.

My favorite breed of dog is the Irish Wolfhound. I have been borderline obsessed with wolfies for more than half my life (roughly about sixteen years). I buy every Irish Wolfhound book I can get my hands on, hunt the internet for pictures, buy Irish Wolfhound breed specific calendars even when I have to special order them, and go to local dog shows specifically just to see them.

When I have my own house and enough room / disposable income to afford the upkeep of one, I even have the breeder I'm going to get one from picked out!

lol

Yeah I'm crazy.

Labs. I've owned a Shepard, Boston Terrior, Chow, and Boxer. My lab was easier to train and is very well behaved. And they love water, so they can swim u!

Hmm, for me, it'd be Siberian Huskies, Welsh Corgis, especially the Pembroke breed, Japanese Spitz and Shibas.
