Put the pot in the sink and put soap in and let it soak for a day or two then try scrubbing it, I had that same problem last week and I just let it soak.

It sounds like you need something abrasive - have you tried a brillo pad? Maybe try putting in about two inches of water and some dish detergent, and bringing it to a boil first. That might help loosen the black stuff so the brillo pad works better. Good luck!

boil a pot of water for about thirty minutes. Remove from heat add white vinegar and salt, and let it sit for several hours . Then scrub with (non-abrasive) not a (BRILLO PAD) scrubbing pad and dishwashing soap.

Try adding about 1/4 cup dishwasher powder and water to the pan and simmer for 15 minutes.

Heh, happens to the best of us!

I let it soak with hot water and a lot of dish soap and then take an SOS pad to it. You may have to repeat it a few times. But it saves the pan!
