I can see where there other sectarian differences come from but why do they have so many problems with the Trinity? When they try to explain they each explain it differently, this is normal to some extent but....many of their answers contradict each other. Please discuss this topic. Don't try to explain the trinity(there are lots of posts about that)--just answer this question please.

Deep Sky...you again..."Before you even think this is an issue,

can you QUOTE for me where in the bible does it mention Trinity?"

IT DOESN'T!!! And it is in an issue...

and to other posters....not all of the different explanation contradict each other but MANY OF THEM DO.

hispanol...I like what you said:"To answer your question is simple. The concept of the Trinity is not in scripture, hence making it a grey area and letting everyone put in their opinion about it."

I would then ask you why can't some of us have the opion that it is not true?

And dear mr. no -name yeah you who took your name off --I OPENLY ADMIT I DON'T BELIEVE IT--I ALSO DON'T WANT TO

I do however want to know what explanations Christians have for accepting others as Christian when they have different concepts of the Trinity that many times contradict each other.

If you would like to answer that I suggest you edit and erase what you already typed and start over.

Christians have differing views on a lot of things. That is why there are so many different religions.

First off, "Christian" is not a religion. There are many supposedly Christian religions with different beliefs. None offer a true explanation as to the nature of the trinity for one simple reason - there is no such teaching in the Bible.

Not only is the word "trinity" not found, but the idea is not present. Granted, the doctrine seems supported by some verses taken out of context, some verses incorrectly translated (John 1:1 comes to mind), and some verses which had pro-trinity additions fabricated (1 John 5:7). But a deep study of the Bible indicates that Jesus very clearly differentiates himself from God.

To answer your question is simple. The concept of the Trinity is not in scripture, hence making it a grey area and letting everyone put in their opinion about it. This is why there are so many disciplines of Christanity, each believe in something different so they seperated and created their own religion with their own beliefs.

When it's that much contradition going on, I say do away with the false doctrine.

The trinity was a doctrine adopted with the Consil of Nicea or something like that, and it was adopted into "Christianity" for the sake of argument. Sorta by popular demand from the pagans.

So, honestly, it's not explainable. At least not with using the Bible.

Everyone is at a different place in their Christian walk. Some are well studied divinity grads and some are just starting out in their faith and have to learn the fundementals. The Trinity is an important truth that shouldn't be treated lightly but there are different levels of maturity out there.

Simply because it is a contradictory doctrine.

Also, eveyone that believes in the doctrine, has their own concept about, so you more or less have to hear them completely out before you respond, because the answer you give one may not fit for another.

Just because some churches explain the Trinity differently doesn't necessarily mean they disagree about it or contradict each other... and even when they do, it just means that both can't be right rather than both must be wrong.

I dont think they understand it themselves either....considering that everyone gives different interpretations of it, some say that it isn't even in the bible while others say it is the most important part of christianity. and then some say its too complex for our finite minds to understand. reading the answers only leaves me more confused.

Because we are human, and therefore we do not know everything. It is not spelled out for us - so there is room for opinion.

Same reason scientists can't agree what happened to dinosaurs - evolved into birds or killed in a mythical cataclysmic crash with a meteor.
