No problem at all.
We live in a world created by God and we all are his sons and daughters.
You dress the manner you like and you were educated.
Be proud.
It's your choice.
God bless you.

I think a lot of people have a problem with it now, but used to not have a problem with them.
I think we all saw some Diane Sawyer report (and please don't think I'm disingenuous) about the poor, repressed Afgani women about a decade ago, who were seemingly forced to wear a veil and forced to do things they may not have wanted to do. Not that all of them were horrible things, but just the idea of not having a choice is a VERY repressive, inhumane concept for most if not all Americans. So much so in fact that it is worth fighting for their freedom to do what they want. We Americans have a wonderful life, and freedoms that we take for granted. Freedoms that we just don't understand why any other governing body wouldn't want for their people. It is truely a foreign concept that most just can't conceive of, why would anyone not want to have the freedom to do what they want to do when they want to do it.
I could go on. But the point is, the veil you and other Muslim women VOLUNTARILY wear has become for many Americans a subconsious symbol that most are probably unaware of, of a culture of repression, dictatorship, rule by fear, and representative of a set of values and ethics that we don't understand/didn't grow up with and are therefore deemed (whether it's fair or not) as unpatriotic/unAmerican. For some Americans it doesn't matter if it's a true representation, or if their American or not, or even that the Diane Sawyer special was really about Al Qieda, and other terrorists. It's about a symbol, and what that symbol stands for. I can't really tell you WHY the veil has become the symbol it has become, but the fact is, it has become a symbol of a culture and religious belief that is very devisive. Many of us know that Islam is not set up to be evil, but the fact is, the media only shows the negative side of things and that's usually the only contact we non-Muslims have with Islam. I'm sorry it's become the symbol that it has. It is your choice. I don't have very much experience with people wearing the veil, so I can't say I have a Problem with it. But I am aware of it, and the symbol it represents to me.

By wearing the veil you are condoning the wearing of it in other Muslim countries where women have no choice. It is also restrictive. Your lower vision is retricted, and the type of work or job you can do would also be resticted under Health and Safety Regulations. Also by wearing full Islamic dress you have totally restriced you choice of clothes. Any religion or culture that places so many restrictions on women as much as Islam does has to be questioned. All in all I`d say that this action is a regressive step for women.

Unless its a full face one I don't see why anyone would have a problem. A complete veil ... why? I'm not being disrespectful but as a Christian, I believe in showing no sign of cleavage and the Koran also says to draw a veil across our bosoms, the Bible says to dress modestly, which I do.

My dresses and skirts aren't even knee level never mind higher and I never walk down the streets bare-armed.

God couldn't have meant for half the world's population to be blotted out otherwise he wouldn't have created women to be more ... beautiful than men.

However, the veil which allows your face to show is fine with me, I think there is a kind of .... holiness and innocence about a woman in a veil.

From a secular standpoint and back to the full face. It is human nature to want to see the face of others, we get so many clues from expressions, we lose those clues if we can't see the face.

Plus, those wanted by the police can't skip the country. You must admit, you could be anyone under the burqa.

I don't know that I have a problem with it but I find it a bit difficult to accept in this country (UK) and this culture. I feel that if I went to live in a Muslim country I would have to fit in with the culture there and cover my body and rightly so. I wouldn't want to offend anyone as a visitor to another land. But this is a free society and the veil to me seems to say that I am not good enough to look at you. I know this is more than likely not the case but still I feel excluded by your choice.

Because some people in the west view the veil as a sign of oppression. Granted, even if its your choice, it appears that you are brainwashed into choosing 7th century oppression.
You may choose to wear it, but in much of the Muslim world it is mandatory. Thus, it becomes a symbol of oppression in the eyes of westerners. We value freedom and equality above all else. Much of Muslim culture conflicts with modern western society, we want no part of your archaic religious traditions and mideval mentality.

Is your choice indeed, cause you live in the west, so first don't forget you have this right...cause we are not Muslims, so try to wear it with respect and not with bad character and ostentation, cause it is separatist.

second, the fact that you wear it, doesn't mean that I have to like it, or that I can't have my opinion, in the west and 21st century to dress like Pakistan century 6, doesn't look smart at all.

You want to cover all, your very problem, my problem is that now when you are 1 % you want to cut my freedom of speach so by when you arrive to 10 % you may be asking to remove our crosses, cause is your culture too, to do so, torture, kill and call people infidel and pig, because we don't think as you.

when you come here you are like a lamb, when you think you have some power then turn into a snake who attacks who open the door...This is the issue about veil. represent clearly the muslim double standards.

Do you understand the disservice you do to the hard work women have done before you so you could go to school, vote, drive a car and have a career? Do you get the abuse the veil projects? do you understand the submission it implies?

Do you mean in church or all the time? Either way...go for it.

My mother wears a veil in church as do several other women. St. Paul says we should, but if it becomes a point of contention we should not.

When I have a problem is when it is not a choice. When women get stoned to death for showing a wisp of hair, or when they live their lives in fear of retribution for not being constantly covered: yes I find problems with that. If it is your non-coerced choice, I have no problem at all.
