You have a box of mixed chocolates. It doesn't tell you what each one is. You can only guess at which contains nuts or is a caramel or some kind of cream filling. You just don't know what you're going to get.
Life is kinda like that. You can guess at what you will be handed in life, but you never know when tragedy might strike, or the best of circumstances happen. It's all a matter of chance.

Well when you eat a chocolate you don't know whether it's going to be a truffle or strawberry filled. It's basically just a metaphor for the fact that you can't predict how you're life will turn out . the decisions you make will not always turn out as you expected them to. The paths you take are not clear cut. You may choose a square chocolate and expect it to be cherry filled but actually get caramel. Now the most important part is do you like caramel? Is it a good chocolate or a bad chocolate?

It is more than just advice to expect the unexpected. It's a serendipitous life philosophy that leads to good luck in making unexpected and fortunate discoveries. When you choose a piece of chocolate candy, you know you will get chocolate, and whatever is inside the chocolate is going to be good too (maybe you will like some better than others, but they're all good.)

That you never know what you're going to get in life. This quote is actually not all that great though because we all know that you do know what you get when it comes to chocolates due to the assortment boxes being labelled!

Yes i agree with you, but then if i already know what i am gonna get in life, then whats the point in living it anyway, so take life as it comes, you win some you lose some, no fun and thrill in playing if you always win....
